If you are looking for a non-surgical way to refresh, revitalise and look younger while  preserving a natural look, then an Aptos thread lift is the answer for you. Results are evident immediately, and continue to improve over many months.

Facial Ageing

Collagen loss is a major contributor to facial ageing. Collagen is a fibrous protein that  gives structure and support to the skin. When the skin’s collagen content decreases with age, it gives rise to typical signs of ageing such as saggy and loose skin and wrinkles (galderma).

Aptos thread not only lift saggy and loose skin to restore aged skin it also is a collagen  biostimulator. The purpose of collagen biostimulators is to activate collagen renewal in  the skin, and thereby help restore its inner structure and volume. This is the main reason  for continual improvement of the Aptos thread result over many months following  insertion of threads.

Mid-face sagging and smile lines:

Nasolabial folds are best described as the two skin folds on the side of the nose  and corner of the mouth. It is said that as a person ages, the fold becomes more  pronounced as a result of mid face sagging, but not always. Nasolabial folds can

also form in young people due to genetic predisposition or excessive facial  expressions, weight loss and bad habits. As a result, problem appears and hardly is  hidden by makeup.

To get rid of wrinkles with the help of massage is unlikely to succeed; moreover, an  unprofessional procedure can worsen the situation by stretching new folds. Don’t  risk, it is better to ask professionals for help. They can offer a more delicate and  effective solution.

Lots of people use HA fillers to correct the wrinkles on the face but this method can  in some cases only worsen the situation, making the face “heavy.” Besides, fillers  sometimes are not enough and to improve results it is better to combine them with  threads.

Wrinkle of sadness (Marionette line)

The drooping mouth corners are also called “wrinkles of sadness” as they give the  face an expression of sadness, causing associations with helplessness and a  tendency to complain. Is this a manifestation of character?

Not really. The reasons of “wrinkles of sadness” are objective and age-related:  reduction of cheek volume and skin elasticity makes it hang over this area. These  changes are more evident at 35-40s even when you are calm; it looks like you are  sad and depressed. Drooping mouth corners can be inherited as well. These people  are usually asked -“Why are you sad?” – not only in difficult moments. We think  everyone agrees that the situation is not pleasant, and they want to get rid of the  wrinkles.

“Wrinkles of sadness” can be removed easily and quickly thanks to Aptos threads.  The procedure is not painful, does not leave scars, is short and needs minimum of  downtime. Result persists for approximately two to three years with the use of  absorbable and up to five years with non-absorbable threads. The persistence of the  result is affected by genetic predisposition, patient’s lifestyle and in compliance with  recommendations during recovery period.

What you need to know about an Aptos thread lift.

All Aptos threads comply fully with Australian Regulatory requirements and are listed  on the ARTG. In addition, your Doctor has been accredited by Aptos and has been fully  trained in the Aptos techniques for thread lifting.

An Aptos thread lift is designed to provide lift, tighten saggy skin, smooth wrinkles,  stimulate collagen production and improve skin tone, texture and colour to give you a  more natural long-lasting appearance. Results are evident immediately and continue to  improve over many months. Benefits of a thread lift can continue for several years after  treatment. Thread lifting is a popular procedure to achieve that younger refreshed look  without altering your appearance.

How does a thread lift work?

Thin threads are inserted gently into the soft tissue of the areas to be lifted and a local  anaesthetic is used to calm the area and ensure a comfortable experience. There is no  cutting of the skin and no scarring. The absorbable threads dissolve within 18-24  months. but before they dissolve, they create a support scaffolding of collagen for the  skin that supports and lifts the skin for many years to come. In addition to the lift effect,  a thread lift will create new skin firmness with improved skin colour, skin tone, texture  and hydration. Typically, the procedure takes 30 – 60 minutes.

The unique thread design utilising specially developed and patented soft barbs, also  known as cogs, attach to the surrounding tissue just like Velcro to help hold the skin in  place to achieve the desired lift effect. The benefits of a thread lift can last for several  years depending on the areas treated and individual response. Your doctor may also  recommend thread lifting in combination with other treatments such as dermal fillers  and anti-wrinkle injections depending on your requirements.

How long have Aptos threads been available?

Absorbable threads have been available in Australia and New Zealand since 2009.  However, the Aptos threads have been available overseas for over 20 years. The  material from which the absorbable threads are made from is the same material that  has been used in conventional dissolvable sutures that have been used in surgery for  many years.
