Laser-Skin-Resurfacing
Are you looking to find a way to reverse the
signs of ageing, whilst maintaining a natural
look? Are you afraid of long recovery times after
procedure?

Laser skin resurfacing referred to as Fraxel Laser is a popular Non-Ablative facial rejuvenation procedure and provides an effective method to reduce the signs of ageing, whilst maintaining a natural look.

The Fraxel Laser can treat a variety of minor facial flaws, including fine wrinkles, age spots, uneven skin tone or texture, and sun-damaged skin, with a short recovery time of 3-5 days.

Additionally, laser skin resurfacing can also be used to reduce the appearance of mild to moderate acne scars.

What is Fraxel Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Fraxel Laser skin resurfacing is an effective way to rejuvenate skin while maintaining your natural look. This cutting-edge technology is non-ablative and fractional. Non-ablative means it doesn’t damage the skin’s surface and fractional means it treats a “fraction” of your skin leaving the surrounding skin untouched. This ensures a short recovery time.

How does Fraxel laser skin resurfacing work?
The Non-ablative skin resurfacing laser heats the skin tissue in a controlled manner in a way that does not harm the surface of your skin, stimulating the production of new collagen. Collagen is a fibrous protein that gives the skin its elasticity and suppleness. By producing new collagen, it improves the texture, tightness, and color of the skin. Laser skin resurfacing is a popular procedure for improving the appearance of wrinkles, scars, and sun damage.

What are the benefits of laser skin resurfacing?

The Fraxel Laser can treat a variety of minor facial flaws, including:

  • Age spots
  • Hyperpigmentation, including melasma
  • Freckles
  • Fine wrinkles
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Uneven skin tone or texture
  • Acne scars

Unlike treatments that use temporary fillers, laser skin resurfacing does not disrupt the skin’s natural architecture. The ultimate effect is a younger, smoother look with little recuperation time.

Laser resurfacing treatment can be performed on the face, neck, decolletage, chest, and hands.

What types of lasers are used for laser skin resurfacing?

For laser skin resurfacing treatments, we use Nordlys Ellipse Frax 1550/Frax 1940, a new version of the Fraxel Dual non-ablative fractional laser by Candela (Made in USA).

The combinations of these two wavelengths (1550 and 1940) allow the laser to target both superficial and deep layers of skin make it suitable to treat a wide range of skin conditions.

What happens before Fraxel treatment?

The initial stage in Fraxel therapy is for one of our specialists to evaluate the compatibility of your skin for the procedure. Not all skin disorders and skin types are appropriate, and another laser may be more suited to your needs.

We also take standardized clinical photos of the skin that is about to be treated. This is for the purpose of before and after comparisons.

How is it performed?

Laser skin resurfacing procedures are performed at QC Skin cancer & laser Clinic by qualified doctors or nurses under supervision of doctors who have undergone extensive training to perform these
procedures. The numbing cream is applied to the patient’s face one hour prior to the procedure, and the laser is then applied under a Zimmer cooling machine. The procedure usually takes around one hour, and some topical cream is then applied. The patient will have slightly pink skin with mild swelling, but they can go back to their normal activity with strict sun protection measures.

How do I look and feel after Fraxel treatment?

Recovery from laser resurfacing treatment can take up to two weeks but is usually as short as three to four days before the redness and swelling disappear. After recovery, the skin will have a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance. The non-ablative lasers we use at QC Skin Cancer & Laser Clinic result in only very minor swelling and skin peeling. Our laser skin resurfacing procedures are extremely safe, with minimal side effects and a quick recovery time.
